I support the concept fully. I guess the idea came out of this related thread

I enjoy vote chess a lot when it's done right, but nothing is more frustrating than when it's done badly, drive by voters, spamming of forums etc. So I have abandoned the larger games at this point except perhaps as an observer and play mainly in one small group of like minded people, not all are very strong players and as Andrea remarked we all learn from each other. It's not all dreadfully serious there is a lot of humour involved but we do think and discuss each move carefully. I am pretty sure that my learning on vote chess on this site through discussion with other players and getting to understand new concepts has improved my standard of play significantly, I'm probably 300 points higher than I might have been. It's not all just follow the highraters either, there is open discussion and often the higher raters are challenged by excellent ideas from the improvers.
Therefore i think standard of play and quality over quantity should be rewarded like it is in one to one games. Difficult to achieve perhaps but I think it's the way to go as the Vote Chess game concept seems to be here to stay.
I was wondering if Erik and staff could reconsider the way the VoteChess Leaderboard works. At the moment, the more games a team wins, the higher it goes in the leaderboard. I think that a different system, based for example on ELO, would be way better, because it would reward quality rather than quantity.
I know that, when Vote Chess was introduced, it was seen more or less as “fun chess”. Today, however, there are many teams that are taking this “very seriously”, putting together strong teams and investing a lot of effort in the games they play. My personal believe is that this form of chess is a great way to improve the team spirit and to improve the level of the lower skilled members, who can learn a great deal just by following the discussion animated by the higher rated players.
What do you think?
Thanks in advance for any comments!
