I vote for Naka, for his openness and accessibility, sharing what he knows so prolifically, and being one of the best players alive.

Naka is short for Hikaru Nakamura, the American chess player.

Are those two guys even on this site? I know they're GMs of renown, but what makes them "influential" here?

Yes they have memberships.  They play in tournaments like titled Tuesday and will play blitz challenges through their chess.com account.  A lot of Hikarus onlline games are posted on youtube as well. 

He's not buying me anytime soon either.
