ok Gaby is one of my favorite ;) but are not famous in this site but in the messenger is very famous.I go to talk with he by the messenger :)
WOOHOO!
SilentFilmStar's stock just went way up!
I think the people who really contribute to the peripheral content deserve special mention... my list is short but all important because it's MY list.
Silentfilmstar patrols the forums with an iron fist... rooting out evil with efficiency and cynical humor. If he's the last poster... i always go to that thread first.
Batgirl for her blog and her witty and brief commentary in the forums (brevity was never my strongpoint)
Sonofpearl for his endless contributions to the news, keeping us up to date at a glance.
Billwall for his expert contributions
and the few talented players who always seem to chime in when someone wants game analysis. Offering game analysis can be difficult because it opens you up to criticism... but there are a few players who brave the peanut gallery and always offer little tidbits of help when asked... silentfilmstar and loomis are 2 that come to mind here.
My list is short and by no means comprehensive... but if i were bankrolling chess.com, these people would be put on retainer.
Oginschile is very personable and friendly. What chess.com is all about. I am very happy I got to meet him through SonOfPearl's tournament. So I gotta give props to SonOfPearl for getting his friends to gether in one place, plus all the content he adds to the site.
But my vote for favorite member would have to go to the always helpful, always kind, and most magnanimous, likesforests.
I can't go with any single person, but here is my list.
Webgogs ~ For all the work he had put into the Vote Chess game against Cheater 1
Warwind ~ A high ranker player who has offered me support and words of advice regarding chess
Torkil ~ Involved in a teaching tournament I am playing, his expert analysis on not only the daily puzzles, but also when someone posts a game looking for advice.
PerfectGent ~ Had a bad start with this guy, but has lived up to his name, offers support and advice to all and also posts Yelena's games move by move when the information is available.
There are lots of other people out there, that make me smile, make me think and sometimes make me angry, but they are all part of this great Chess community.
Thanks Add.
I think I would have to nominate the Erik and the rest of the staff for just makeing the site possible.
If it had to be someone else it would be Michael_Sarimento or Rael
Alright hey - a lot of the people I like have been mentioned. Keeping it going though, there's a whole bunch - queenie, Stacy_Bearden and King Billy are a pack. I think Kurt Godden is cool. I've met a lot of really ace people from the UK I have to say, it's really bizarre. Something they put in British tea, I bet, just makes them love to play chess, God bless 'em. Oh, and what's with those cool Irish lads Pistoleer and Evil_Homer? Good lord, I'd love to break out a board with them on some cobblestone street, bwaha, and get in a fistfight afterwards, for good measure! Silentfilmstar and Quixotic are keeping the Open Discussion group interesting. Bambi Ax-Handle, PrettyGoPale and Aristokatt are a wickedly eccentric group of friends. OSUBUCKEYE and Dog_Day_Afternoon are both super down to earth guys who play a mean game...
You know what I think is really neat about chess.com is also seeing your friends play your other friends.I've really enjoyed peeking into my friends' games, seeing how they clash, being surprised at the results...
