why are violations of community guidelines not punished in an instant?

question is in the title.

why are chat messages with obviously insulting text not instantly punished?

if you type in an insult like . f***k you, coward, motherf****er, and so on (no matter the language) why do i have to report such players? no matter if it happens ingame or via private messages. typing and of course sending such messages should result in an instant punishment (i'd prefer a permanent ban but that might be too much - but at least an instant deactivation of the chat)

in 2025 there should be no need to check and verify such messages by moderators or whoever does check them once reported. there should be automatic mechanisms in place like many other games or platforms already have.

so how come people who prefer to insult others instead of playing chess with others can roam freely on chess.com for days or even weeks before actions are taken?

Well, there are problems with instituting an automatic system. I think that it would ban you instantly for your comment, for example.

yeah, might be. but wouldn't that be the point? if punished instantly people would send such messages only once. after that never again or they really risk to be gone for good.

Might take some time for staff to take action
