Very tedious when you are trying to message team members for a match.
Why do we have to [use Captcha]?
Why do we have to type in a code before sending somebody a message?
What is the point?
Adressed to Chess.com
Captcha is used when the site is experiencing a lot of spam.
why cant you just ban the spam
It's impossible to ban it before it's posted. During a spam attack, the spammers are using multiple accounts to generate a lot of spam. The system activates the CAPTCHA to slow attacks down and allow accounts to be handled.
So, then you’re saying there’s deliberate idiots who purposefully are attempting to cause such absurd experiences, like your regular members having to deal with the ridiculous jacked up obviously captcha and tick us all off ? Really??? heh ?
Some letters look like numbers "1" & "l".. and i mix 9 with g sometime.. annd i can't be sure if it is lower or upper case some letters..
i'm trying a few times.. an easy one coming eventually.. maybe it's just me lol
No it isn't just you. A human still has to learn to recognise the letters ..... otherwise it's a guessing game. I once got four (4!!) wrong in a row. Thing is, if a human has to learn to recognise it, then a program can be written to recognise it. So it's nothing more than an inconvenience to people.

If it wasn't working, it wouldn't be used.

That's a point but it's only a temporary fix. My son was writing a program that is supposed to recognise any physics formula or theory. It's image based rather than text based. You feed in any scientific theory and it tells you what it is. Don't know how far he got with that but it would be child's play to adapt something like it to read Captcha.
I so would rather have to touch however many canoes it asks than having typed in a proper captcha and it don’t accept, so because that just randomly type any ole letters first time SINCE IT WONT ACCEPT YOUR FIRST CORRECT TYPE OF LETTERS .
Yayyyy they removed captcha 😂
It's good to see they listen and care about our responses..

If it's removed, it's because the spam attack subsided or was otherwise resolved.

It's good to see that they don't care about our responses actually. Thanks for pointing that out.
Select the passages where adding a decrescendo would add to the musicality...
The correct answer is none. There are no passages where you could add a decrescendo without being accused of using an overly heavy handed metaphor...

It has to do with what the spam attack does to the site. If they did nothing, it would be worse.

Another instance of machines telling us what to do?
