Wow. OP just got served by Kaynight. This is what you get for posting a thread like this...
Served me what? Brunch? Hardly. He's a troll who would rather take the time to attempt to insult someone rather than offer something productive. And he keeps coming back too. As if he is trying to prove something.
And what is a "thread like this"? I posted a serious gripe and I received productive suggestions in turn (such as seeking out groups who focus on slow games). I also got a few monkeys like your hero kaynight who is so self-conscious that the only way he can make himself feel better is by attempting to bring other people down. But really all he is doing is digging a ditch from which he can stand and keep looking up at me. :)
Good thread so far... maybe the OP has changed his mind about this site. Online Chess is definitely a good alternative instead of Live Chess. Try it out.
As for kaynight - dude, seriously - you're nothing more than a troll. Go hide under your bridge. You've offered nothing of value here in this thread. But if you'd like to keep trying, go for it.
There was nothing to change my mind about. It was not my intention to post a thread declaring that I was quitting the site. Only that if things kept up the way they were that it was something I was going to give some serious consideration to. But since I've recieved some productive suggestions as to how to deal with my problem, the likelihood of me quitting has dropped drastically. A fact of which I am sure will please all of my haters who have flocked to this thread in an attempt to build themselves up (though really attempting to tear someone else down is not the same as building yourself up, something I worry they are woefully ignorant of).
You seem to have plenty marginal time to rant OP.
Pardon my ignorance, but what are the letters OP abbreviations for?
Openly pathetic.
There you go, continuing your charade of uselessness. You couldn't even provide a simple, legitimate answer to someone who has nothing to do with this thread and only wanted to know the meaning behind a simple abbreviation. I can only imagine that your work ethic suffers from these same qualities. I also imagine that if you ever wrote a self-help book, it would be filled with little more than pseudo-intellectual knock-knock jokes meant to demean the reader but which in reality only makes glaringly obvious your own inadequacies. Happy trolling. It's obviously all you're good for.
There are so many threads about this subject,it makes you wonder why the people who bump their gums complaining just don't go elsewhere. It obviously controls their life, such as it is.
And yet you keep coming back. The only thing you're proving is your own lack of worth. As for "giving trolls a bad name". The only troll name being given is kaynight and those who keep following suit.
Someone has to tell you off, may as well be me.
It should be someone else. Do you have an apparentice, perhaps? Because you're failing horribly. Maybe it is time for the student to become the master. Retire, old troll. Rest your weary fingers. But then, trolls don't have much in the way of retirement benefits. Is that why you keep trudging through the muck?
Someone has to tell you off, may as well be me.
-and why, might I ask, does he (OP) needs to be told off?
Someone has to tell you off, may as well be me.
That's the thing kaynight; nobody actually does have to tell him off. You just take it upon yourself to stir stuff up. Sometimes your somewhat humorous, sometimes not, but the vast majority of the time it's just useless nonsense.
And you, OP. You are way to defensive. There is no reason to be enraged by anything that anyone has said in this thread. You may also want to read posts more carefully, because half of the stuff you've gotten upset about was due to your lack of critical reading skills.
Someone has to tell you off, may as well be me.

Because I'm an awful, horrible person who is dragging the chess.com community in to the slums with my tiny thread among countless others. Because I am a danger to the foundation of this great community and kaynight, being the gallant white knight that he is cannot abide by this wanton destruction!!!!!
Because he's a troll and he's bored and ever since I made it oh-so obvious that he's an unproductive errant he is now trying to justify his trolling by "putting me in my place".
Someone has to tell you off, may as well be me.

Enraged? Hardly. I'm close to bursting out laughing at his vain attempts to redeem himself in the eyes of, well, himself. More than anything, I'm amused. Not enraged. I'm actually replying to this in-between chapters of the book I'm reading. And if you could, be more specific about my "lack of critical reading skills". Point out something specifically in which I defended myself from an attack that was not there.
Because there are too many people complaining about people using their time the way they see fit. Just like criticism, the OP cannot stomach it.
There has been no criticism. Only trolling. People using their time "as they see fit" is a pathetic excuse. Especially when it goes against the chess.com Fair Play policy. So your "argument" is made invalid by the very terms and conditions you agreed to uphold when you made your account. If someone was simply taking a long time to move then I would not care. But when they DC just because they're losing a game then it is a waste of time and poor sportsmanship. As much of a pompous twat as you are, I would even call out someone who did it to you because even you, in all of your uselessness do not deserve to have someone drop out of a game and waste your time simply because they are too chicken shit to hit the resign button.

Good to hear. Cheers.
Get over yourself for gawwd's sake.
Hey troll!! I say it's his thread. He has a right to complain. Personally for you - How about a nice cup of STFU!?

I'm failing to see your point. I'm starting to wonder about your own critical reading skills. Go back to my original post and read it again. I never said that I was going to leave the site. In fact, if I was just going to leave then I would have done so without making a thread. I would have simply been gone and no one would have been the wiser.
You should also learn a thing or two about taking things out of context. Allow me to post what came after that line:

Awww. Did I strike a nerve? You're the one who keeps coming back to my thread. Don't be upset about a whooping you keep asking for.
You should report that guy. I used your history to see who that was and I notice that he has a note on his profile about doing that. Chess.com has the move time data and can verify your claim that he didn't move until there were 2 minutes left. Throw him into the pool with the other Foul Players.
Yeah, but like I said, he can use his clock in any way he sees fit. He just used it really really poorly. It resulted in a useless game, but I don't think he broke any rules. And I'm just assuming his intention was to get a cheap win. There could also be tons of other explanations, however unlikely they may be.
He did break the rules and if you knew the rules of the site then you would know that. That's why a message pops up saying that they may have violated the Fair Play policy and that their account may be restricted.

Morphy and OP. Get a room... Morphy: This is a public forum to have a full and frank exchange of opinions, not a sycophants day out.
You call your posts an "exchange" ?? LOL. You're delusional. You're a troll. Keep trying.

exactly. if you never suggested you were going to leave the site, why would he hope you changed your mind about leaving the site?
the rest of the post that I did not post in my example was all based on a premise that you just imagined out of thin air, and was merely a byproduct of your misunderstanding not an example of it.

"Original Poster", or something to that effect.
