Hurricanes are cool. And that means that they would actually FIGHT global warming. Hurricanes make air move, much like my ceiling fan. So that would cool the earth off. See, if global warming makes hurricanes, it's killing itself. And no sensible weather pattern would do that.
That is all.
well, what about global warming - does it cause hurricanes, butzko? keep in mind: after Katrina, didn't the global warming religionists get feverish about "greater than normal hurricane Seasons", for both of these last two summers??? and didn't we have two of the mildest hurricane seasons recorded? do you think that the global warming 'fears' might be somewhat akin to "chicken little's: "The Sky is Falling! Run and Tell everyone! We must do SOMETHING ! ! " but, if it really is, what are you going to do? and if it isn't, what is there to be excited about???
Even if you count the hurricanes that hit the southern countries, there was still abnormally low activity and low numbers of folks dying from the storms. by the way, the increasing number of people dying from a hurricane might, just possibly, be related to the increasing number of folks living below sea level in low-lying areas, and not really to increased storm intensity or destructive actions.
thoughts. but that is off topic. more to the point, I'm staying here at chess.com to feverishly play hot games of chess. << well, global warming, you know. makes the games hotter.
Not being a climate scientist and all, I can't really defend the ideas behind it. What I do know, though, is that 2 main ingredients for hurricanes are warm, moist air and warm water. Although Atlantic storms were down in the 2 past years, didn't we see more hurricanes in the Pacific and elsewhere lately? I've read that the decline in storms on the Atlantic side had more to do with la nina than anything else. But, again, I'm no scientist, but records I've seen show that the average surface temperature of the earth (global) is rising (warming).
