Gee, they ban a thread because the title has the word "thing" but they allow the word "p*ssy" more than once?? Chess is also supposed to be logical and not just math.

Ffs, the double entendre got out of hand.  Do they really have to explain this?

His policies sure don't reflect that philosophy.

"there is one and only one social responsibility of business–-to use its resources and engage in activities designed to increase its profits so long as it stays within the rules of the game, which is to say, engages in open and free competition without deception or fraud." - Milton Friedman

That's exactly how Erik is running the site. He's king of his hill. You don't like his hill, you go elsewhere.

They'd rather whine and complain than actually leave.

Libertarianism operates on the idea that people act, and ought to act, in their own self-interest. That's not to say, however, that they do so accurately. They act in the way they believe is in their own self-interest, regardless of any flaws in their beliefs or methods.

You would rather take it from behind like a true lemming.

Among others, anyway.

WOW.. I REALLY didn't expect this thread to take off the way it did.

Then again, I'm sort of used to this sort of thing by now. The threads that I really put my work into and consider to be examples of my highest quality content barely receive any attention at all, while the ones that I create in 3 minutes on a whim for reason become popular. I've heard that the same sort of thing tends to happen to professional writers.

Erik's a hypocrite to at least some degree, but aware of that or not, he's still plausibly acting within his libertarian principles.

I've observed that people on the Internet are drawn to conflict.

Anthony Burgess hated A Clockwork Orange, claiming he wrote it in only three weeks, yet everybody loved it. Art is one of the best ways to feel frustrated and misunderstood.

Staff can you lock this one?                                                                               https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/-81

KantWasWrong

Thread title is jejune.

nimzomalaysian

No mod has even bothered to reply. I've never seen such irresponsible mods on any other site before.

RonaldJosephCote

Please lock THIS idiot thread too.                                                                       https://www.chess.com/forum/view/suggestions/petition-to-banish-gifs-from-chess-com?page=1                                                                               The OP edited or changed post #1.  I DID NOT SIGN ANY PETITION TO MAKE THE SITE LOOK BAD.  And now he's blocked me and others so we can't post or explain our position.   HE LIED!Yell  TO THE ENTIRE SITE, and he's making a mockery of Staff.

LadyMisil

Ronald, I understand your position in the thread Gifs, but the later contributions made it a funny thread. I enjoyed viewing it!

Open a ticket.  I would like to see this matter responded to.

Thank you Lady, but I've crossed swords with that idiot Frodo22. I don't want to be associated with him WHATSOEVER.

He did not hate A Clockwork Orange, he hated that people misinterpreted it as a glorification of violence, that's why he wished he didn't write it.

LadyMisil

Does being a control freak have anything to do with an overload of "proofs"?
