I have two suggestions actually:
1) Tactics Trainer - http://www.chess.com/tactics/
2) Chess Mentor - http://www.chess.com/chessmentor
Both of these training systems have helped me to improve my chess understanding.

well those suggestion are useless unless he pays to play here and I wouldn't pay if I were him since he's probably not able to solve most of the tactic trainer most of the time. I guess you can just try some without being logged in and think and calculate every pieces and every move it can do until you can figure out the move that would be winning. Do not move until you saw it.
What I did when I started chess is to have a stronger player teach me idea and what to do and I guess reading books would be able to help you or some kind of program that have chess lessons like chessmaster or some other I guess.
There is a bunch of thing you can find online I"m sure.
ha ha well I would start by changing your name! I tried to look at your games but you don't have much up. Here's my advice: Making sound developing moves and making sure pieces are protected...well that's very important. From a good position come attack, combinations, all the fun stuff. Try to apply the basic, foundational principles. The rest will come later.
I just wondered if anyone could offer any advice to a useless chess player?
I play regularly online but always seem to lose. I realize I'll never be a highly rated player but I think theres something Im missing in my game thats makes me soo bad?
Most of the time I simply aimlessly move my pieces around with no real aim in the hope I will capture some pieces and sometimes I do. Everyone I play seems to always be ahead of me and have a game plan where I simply play to stay alive.
Any advice will be greatful :)
