Why do you want to be able to delete your threads ?

No!

You should be able to delete your theads. You are the owner of your creations and you have the right to destroy your creations.

While I don't dispute the idea being able to delete what you make but, the question is why would you want to ?

If you made a good thread to begin with, why get rid of it ? If you made crap and want to delete it, I can understand that too but, if someone here is a troll making crap, that person should have to live with it...

Are you saying that the trolls who make a bad thread without comments deserve to lose their rights to delete their threads ? In other words: Why would you punish somebody by not letting him cut his finger ? No sense!

If they are ignored, it should be their punishment. If their thread turns out not to their liking, they should have to live with it. If they are put in their place and or make an absolute @$$ of the themselves, they should have to live with it. Perhaps, it would be more incentive to not do it again.

But you can delete it anyway by telling the stuff to delete it... or just start to spam your own thread until the unstoppable deletion by the hungry mods.

I realize that staff is usually willing to delete it if you ask nicely. I am questioning if some people would like to enjoy deleting all of the hard work of others or flushing their opinions down the toilet ? I honestly could care less on some level but, I am against more trolling tools.

You can delete your blog but not your thread. Isn't this suspictiously strange ?

I think you should be able to also, as long as you are not found to be abusing it but, that is a fine line of judgment. Many people would simply do it to be cruel or if they are shown up. You can block people and also ask that there posts be removed. If chess.com gave this new toy, the out cry would probably be like two toddlers fighting over the blocks...

@Idrinkyourhealth   Try to understand this: you may start a thread but do not own it. It's community property. The very idea that the OP should be allowed to cause everyones' efforts to twinkle out of existence, maybe on petulant whim, is utter nonsense.
