It was very helpful. I've checkmated my opponent in many of these ways but, I've also come into positions like these without knowing how to checkmate. In the end, I lost.

With best play, it's tough to get to that position.

so the initial position could be this ?
the problem here is that black can check w/ queen before being forced to play 1...Qe8+
here might be one....
1...Nb8
2. Ba4+ Nd7 (either one)
3. BxN NxB
4. PxN+ Kd8
