From the elementaire checkmates is checkmate by 2 bishops more difficult then many think it is. But it is more easy then making an checkmate with knight-bishop.
We start from the vieuw of an difficult situation. Black king is in an position that he cannot 'touch'them and is in the triangle and escaping is impossible by good play but beware for steal draw!
1.Bb4 Kd4 2.Kb7 Ke3 3.Bb5 both pair bishops are in an perfect strategy position and the king in an position -triangle-where escape look likes impossible for the mighty King. Kd4 4.Kb6 Kd5
( 4...Ke4 5.Kc5 Ke5 6.Bc6 Ke6 7.Kd4 Kf6 8.BLd7 Kg5 9.Ke5 is not very different. )
5.Bc3 Ke4 6.Kc5 Ke3 7.Kd5 Kf4 8.BLd2+ Kf3 9.Bd3 and the triangle seems a lot smaller now. Kf2 10.Ke4 Kg3 11.Be3 Kg4 12.Bf4
( fast but most simple to discover is:12.Be2+ these methode follows the triangle the best from the more and more smaller triangle where the King can moves in. here comes: .12...Kg3 13.Kf5 Kh3 14.Bf3 Kg3 15.Ke4 Kh3 16.Bf4 and the black King is captured and hold between h3 en h3. 16...Kh4 17.Ke3 Kh3 18.Kf2 Kh4 Now we going to move the Bishop away and can the black King moves to h2, forced moves.19.Be2 Kh3 and we take off h4 with: 20.Bg5 Kh2 21.Bf1 Kh1 22.Bg2+ Kh2 23.Bf4# )
12...Kh4 13.Be2 Kh3 14.Kf3 Kh4 15.Kf2 from here we carry on to put the black King checkmate onh2. 15...Kh3 16.Bg5 Kh2 17.Bf1 Kh1 18.Bg2+ Kh2 19.Bf4# 1-0

Pauline, that is a very good presentation! I have not seen the 2-B mate in this 'way of seeing' before - shrinking triangles.
