Checkmate with Knight + Bishop

Congrats for a very nice video. There is an alternative mating pattern that I find easier and more idiotproof then the W maneuver. Start with blacks K on f8 and white with K on f6, N on f7, and B on f5. Play goes 1. Bh7, Ke8. 2. Ne5, Kd8. Now most books and teachers recommend chasing with the king 3. Ke6. I prefer 3. Be4. If black goes 3....Kc7 then 4. Nc4 and the bishop and knight make a nice solid wall confining the king. If black goes 3....Ke8. 4. Be5, Kf8 then we walk the king along the rank with 5. Nd7, Ke8. 6. Ke6 etc. A main line using my method would be something like 3. Be4, Ke8. 4. Bd5, Kd8. 5. Kf7, Kc7. 6. Nc4, Kd7. 7. Be4, Kd8. 8. Bc6, Kc7. 9. Bb5, Kd8. 10. Ke6, Kc7. 11. Ke7, Kc8. 12. Kd6, Kd8. 13. Na5, Kc8. 14. Bd7ch, Kb8. 15. Kc6, Ka7. 16. Kb5. Now black has a choice of getting mated by the bishop or the knight. Either 16...Ka8. 17 Kb6, Kb8. 18. Nb7, Ka8. 19. Nc5, Kb8. 20. Na6ch, Ka8. 21. Bc6 mate or 16....Kb8. 17. Kb6, Ka8. 18. Bb5, Kb8. 19. Ba6, Ka8. 20. Bb7ch, Kb8. 21. Nc6 mate. For what it is worth I taught my 11 year old niece how to mate with B and N and she found my method easier than the W method.

Hey, I actually just recorded a video, showing how to checkmate with knight and bishop. I think the technique I'm showing is a little bit easier to remember and play in a real game than what is shown in the example above. I hope this video helps!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWwuy-aiK1M
