I am currently playing a game in which i have a king and bishop and my opponent has a king and a knight. I was under the impression that this is insufficient material for checkmate. And yet the game is carrying on. can someone please help. It would be much appreciated. Merry Christmas

well, this is still possible!(or in any other of the corners) (there are 8 ways to do this, but only 4 if you have one bishop)

There are possible mating positions with either color, provided that one of the players want to be selfmated. Why don't one of you offer a draw?

thanks for your messages. i did offer a draw, but it was declined. my bishop is now gone, so I take it that makes it a draw.

Ah you forced a draw by letting him take. I will have to remember that if I ever get stuck in a drawn position and my opponent refuses draw offers.

Of course, if he also refuses the gift...could be a long game.
