I have lost 9 games in a row (from different time controls). What do I do? How have I gotten worse at chess? Please see my games and tell what I am doing wrong. I don't like losing, especially 9 games in a row. Am I at a rating I shouldn't be at? Maybe I accidentaly won a few games in a row that increased my rating over what it should be. Whatever it is please help me.

It happens. My longest losing streak is ten games. Your rating will likely recover, but my advice is to stop playing if you lose a couple and come back fresh later on.

Hi! My name is Lauren Goodkind and I’m a chess coach based and chess book author based in California: www.ChessByLauren.com

First of all, sorry to hear about loosing 9 games in a row.  I believe that everybody goes through a losing streak from time to time, including myself.  And yes, losing at chess isn't fun.     I am confident that your rating will go up, eventually.

Regardless, I have tips to help you improve your chess skills so you can win more games.

I recommend playing with a slow time control, such as game in 30 minutes.  You need time to think.  Beginners tend to make a lot of silly moves with very little time.  This makes sense since there’s a lot of pieces on the board.

I also offer a  free beginner’s free eBook on my website, www.ChessByLauren.com in case you are interested. The book is about asking questions before each move.
Before each move, I highly encourage you ask questions before every move such as, “If I move here, is it safe?”, “Can I safely capture a piece?”, and more.  If you are past this stage, then you want to find a winning forcing line, so you can get in a winning position.  Yes, FIND A FORCING/winning line.  Think several moves ahead.

Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side.

Learn basic tactics such as the fork, discovered attack, pin, and more.  I offer interactive puzzles on my website: https://www.chessbylauren.com/two-choice-puzzles.php
If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.
I hope that this helps.

First : you got to stop resigning so often, you are down one piece and you end the game.

Second: I worked up to 1300 at one point and dropped to 1030. It’s the nature of the game. This drastic up and down hits ppl with less games worst.

Third: build pressure, don’t take to take. Other than that ur fine

When I was age 8 my dad taught me chess and then he won 100 games in a row.

That did not discourage me. It showed me what a game of skill chess is.

Now my record vs masters s approximately 67% and I have played 4 GMs and won all 4 games.

Don't give up-=-instead increase your skill.

don't worry if you just lose a couple of games then just rest your mind. After so just do chess again.

Looked at some of your games, the first thing I noticed was that in one game, you had a nice position, just won a center pawn, then you just started sacrificing pieces for no reason. Sometimes it's ok to do that, but sacrificing three pieces just completely destroys any attacking prospects you had. Secondly, stop resigning once you go down a piece. At your rating they're probably gonna blunder, you just have to stay aware and try to equalize your position. And you really dont need to overreact about 100 points, its really not that much you could probably regain that in an hour if you really try (just dont burn yourself out thats another way to destroy your rating

Losing streaks are normal and they happen to everyone. One thing I would recommend is to take a break when you are on a losing streak, and then come back later. Hope this helps

Flip a coin 100 times. You'll probably see close to 10 tails in a row, at some point. That doesn't mean tails suddenly got good at coin-flip, or that heads got worse. That's just luck. That's the point of sample size.
