Analysis mode during daily games

As a beginner, I find using the analysis function during daily games really helpful to make sure I'm thinking through my moves properly (not that it always works!). It's easier to actually play those moves through in analysis mode than to try to think ahead 'in my mind's eye' alone. But I worry that when playing OTB or in short time controls, I'll suffer for not having built up that ability.
I'd be interested in views from more experienced players on whether the benefit of playing moves through in analysis mode outweighs the risk of it becoming a crutch. Or whether others would recommend resisting the urge to use the analysis function after a certain point.

yes it is helpful

it really helped me when i first started and was swamped in my first attempts at rapid

eventually, i got tired of daily chess and started playing my moves like i was playing blitz

at that point i realized i needed to get back into rapid (i always felt- deep down- that a game should be completed in one sitting)

i was “scary” at first return and was like removing the training wheels but, in reality, you still use the analysis tool- just in the post game

once you realize that it is in post game analysis where you really make your strides then playing the game isnt “scary” anymore

best of luck

Thanks. Training wheels is a good analogy! I suppose in daily games it doesn't make that much difference anyway, the key thing will be starting to play a few more rapid games when the time is right.
