What opening would you recommend?

Hey 👋 I've started playing my first online game. I went with the suggested 24hr per move match. But I noticed that I've been given an elo rating of 800 as a beginner & they've paired me up with a 1000+ player. So just wondering how the rating system works as a beginner? Does my elo fluctuate alot in the beginning? Giving or taking away alot more points than after you've had a few games.. I kinda feel like they've thrown me in the deep end abit, pairing me up with a more experienced player, so will prob loose. But I'm giving it my best & I guess losing is part of your development on the board & in real life too.. 😉👍

Ah ok I guess it's good to be matched up with higher rated players. As you can learn alot & you never know they may have a bad day at the office 😋.. So how many points do you gain or lose in your games at higher elo? Does it vary depending on how well the machine thinks you've played? Or is it the same each game etc..

Nope, It just gives elo by “elo differences” Maximum + and - 16 (Normally you will get 7-9) ( If you just joined this site, the differences will be huge) Though you made 99% accuracy, They don’t give “more elo”
