Well there is a lot of free material on youtube: ChessNetwork, John Bartholomew, Hanging Pawns, Chess Coach Andras, Chess Dojo, Gotham Chess, GM Naroditsky (lately I've seen him doing educational videos), Agadmator etc.

Partly due to the pandemic and partly due to the amazing success of "The Queen's Gambit," an amazing number of people are trying chess for the first time. And many of these beginners are showing up on Chess.com. I think it would be great if at least a fraction of these newcomers became real chess lovers. But chess can be a tough game to learn on your own, and it can be discouraging to keep getting crushed over and over. Are there any free videos available to help our new players learn the basics of the game, so they will at least have a fighting chance? I know that there is no real substitute for losing and learning from your losses, but we need to help get these new players to the point where they can learn something from their losses--and maybe even win a game every once in a while
