Best move Bb5

Analysis says best move is Bb5.  So if I go Bb5 and black moves a6, then I move Bxc6 forcing black to retake with bxc6, messing up his pawn structure?  I also understand that if black does nothing, then at the very least the knight is now pinned.

Did I get the reasoning correct?

It also increases whites control of e5 by removing a defender. I'm not sure messing up the pawn structure is much of a disadvantage. In return black gets a half open file for their rook. Possibly the c7 pawn isnt very mobile making it more difficult for black to develop their queen. Blacks position might become cramped.
