30 sec is an easy way to earn rating in bullet, but some people don't have a good mouse or can't play that fast. Don't worry, there are many 2000+ rated players out there who focus on checkmating their opponent in 1 min games, this is easy because people normally make careless mistakes and you can easily win by playing fast during the last 30 seconds or when you have a queen or a rook.
Normally, I would suggest trading their most active piece during endgames as they won't be able to move that piece a lot, I can't stress how strong knights are in bullet endgames especially when on low time. Also, the main aim is to flag them and make them low on time. Hard check positions can leave them thinking for many seconds allowing you to make a proper plan and pressure them more.
To avoid thinking where the king should move, you should always have show spaces where king can move in the settings selected as it helps you see where to go after an opponent checks you and it takes you a long time to figure out where to go.
Premoves are a great asset to playing bullet despite being the common downfall of many players; Always remember to enable premoves and if you premove something and didn't want to premove that, you can simply right click and cancel it. Know your openings well and you should be able to premove that opening to get a better advantage from the start. I would recommend a king's Indian setup as its very easy to premove and is very defensive against bullet tricks. Always remember that you can use tricks to undermine your opponents as well; after all, premoves are never perfect as your opponent can't possibly predict EVERYTHING you will plan.
Finally, be confident and play faster than your opponents. In bullet, time is key, you don't have to think a lot if your pieces are in danger, you can always sacrifice pieces if that makes you play faster when on low time. You can always win even if your opponent is winning. Having more time is better than having a winning position without a clue of what to do. And this is another key learning, we need to be able to make the most of any position and we should be able to navigate a win and checkmate fairly quickly when given the opportunity.
Remember to always take freebies and play as fast as possible, do not trade your active pieces and try to play defensively as they would have tricks up their sleeves too. Also, remember to study positions and checkmate puzzles because memorizing a few checkmates will get you a long way as it guarantees wins in potential positions. Don't think too hard and it's ok if you miss a checkmate or lose a piece, remember that you also have to play against the clock.
