Can someone help me get better please i cant get past 500

Being stuck around 500 is very normal, and it usually is not because you do not know enough, but because the basics are not showing up during real games. At this level, improvement comes less from learning many openings or advanced tactics and more from playing slower games, avoiding hanging pieces, and building simple habits. Before every move, ask yourself if something is attacking you and what you are attacking. Do fewer puzzles, but solve them carefully and make sure you understand why a move works instead of just memorizing the answer. Stick to one simple opening for White and Black so you get familiar positions, and spend most of your time on basic tactics like forks, pins, and loose pieces, along with short post game analysis. Even five minutes after each game to spot your biggest mistake will help more than hours of unfocused study, and if you cut down one major blunder per game, your rating will start to rise.
