Chess is heavily unfair

Hell nah, chess obviously fair

Lol, this is a troll post for sure but I'll comment on it anyway. Black has lots of great weapons against white (such as the Sicilians, the Indians, the Caro, the French, the Marshall attack, and so on.) In fact, there was even a book written (Black is OK!), detailing that black is usually alright.

The OP just needs to check out the "First-move advantage in chess" on Wikipedia. It gives all the numbers. As a couple of others have alluded, for the GM types, White's winning score is in the neighborhood of 55%. It goes down as the player's rating decreases. For beginners, it's over 50%, but just about negligible. At any rate, White's first-move advantage is why players alternate colors.

I remember when I was a begginer and we played blitz championships and maybe I could play vs a very well rated player. If I was white... Well, I would lose because I was so focused in not losing that I couldn't really be that sure to play. So, in a way, it was better if I was black even if the other guy was eay superior than me. At least I could learn a thing or two that way. Nowadays it's different (although not a pro haha) but every experience makes you a better player in the long run

According to Stockfish White has about a one 5th or a pawn advantage on the first move. That doesn't seem too unfair to me, especially not to us Three-Digit Heroes who gambit our Queens for no apparent reason.

If their is no difference does someone want to explain why some grandmasters say they go for a draw with black, 😔

You have somehow completely interpreted this wrong, the only time you would go for a tie is when you are losing. In this case the gm is losing to black, where was the major advantage? You accidentally dismantled your argument without realizing it. People like you are the reason why they put safety warnings on table saws.

You are misunderstanding. GMs tend to go for draws with the black pieces, as they are at a high enough caliber to exploit the “first move advantage.” Of course, they can win if they want, but it is easier to attain a draw.

I find it hard to believe that a gm would be such a coward, and go for a draw just because it is easier than actually winning

It's not only easy to believe, at the professional level it should be expected. Think of it as a golf tournament. The very best top players are tied or almost tied. Near the end of the tournament the leader needs to merely tie the last 3 remaining holes.

There are MANY times when drawing (tying) is actually winning. If I'm not mistaken, the last chess world championship was won using that exact strategy.

I know white has an advantage, but I didn't know it was that much. You said a couple things that are very interesting. As the rating increases, the advantage for white increases? Is that right?

At higher levels if whites win rate is 55% that's pretty significant. For any given game it wouldn't make much difference, but over the course of 10, 20, or 100 games it seems like it would start to make a difference. I win more as white. But I never thought it was because I was good, I always thought it was because I was so bad.

Stockfish has no clue what the evaluation is for White at the beginning of the game, you little 940 rated simpleton. It's just throwing out a number that has no basis in reality.

You seem pretty cool yourself. Want to get a beer sometime? While we are there, I can explain reading comprehension to you if you want.

Why would I want to have a beer with a mindless nerdy little kid who is too stupid to be able to read and comprehend English? My English is at the level of a post-grad, little runt. You're the stupid little pecker who can't even understand what I was talking about in my post.

Imagine me leaning forward, putting my face into my hands and dramatically say "Whoosh!"

Before you spout off some more about how great you are, despite evidence to the contrary, would you like to take this up a notch to make absolutely sure I report you for abusive language?

Your comment called me a "940 rated simpleton." This was AFTER I already said I was a low rated player, hence me pointing out that you didn't read my comment properly. In your comment you didn't say anything of use, hence me not responding to whatever you feel the point of the comment was. I hope this was of help.

Please continue. This is amusing, and I am sure I'm not the only one reading this for entertainment.

I think you both need a time out. Children act this way, not adults. That being said, I think it's a little unusual that someone who is honestly rated at 2400 would have any reason to lash out in such a way. Something doesn't seem quite right.

I was a bit snarky in my response, and I admit at this point I am just egging him on, but I was actually trying to be civil.

OK, I'm calling it quits. It is not even funny anymore. Hope you figure out whatever it is that is making you so angry. Go well.

If you look closer, White only have +1.00 advantage

Actually, as your 1183 rating PROVES, you aren't capable of thinking. You're another slow and stupid imbecile who is just a waste of space, just like the retard who can't even figure out the simple concept about chess engines I was trying to teach him. You're the one acting like a child.  You're an UGLY LOOKING DITCH PIG BTTCH who is clearly very lonely and desperate for attention, so you're butting into something that doesn't concern you which will serve only to keep this thing going for longer than it would have. I realize you're too fccking dumb to understand what I'm even talking about here which is why you suck so bad at chess even though you've been playing here for MORE THAN A DECADE. You clearly are dumb even for a woman and have no ability to learn and improve!

Good luck. You are going to need it.

You're 1872.

Christ... even my OTB rating is hundreds of points higher than that.

Regardless of rating, in two days you will still be here. He won't. Sort of like a caught fish, fighting for his last gasp of breath. The fighting is expected, but everyone  knows the ultimate outcome.
