The picture that is in the "advertisement" doesn't even show correctly on my screen. The advertisement is actually telling me not to check it out! Chess.com may be trying to get members to sign up for premium services but it certainly is better than anything the advertiser might have with its graphics that don't even display correctly.
chess isn’t confusing, poor teachers just make it confusing

I think you need to update your windows 97 boomer computer. the advertiser sounds like an ominous video game character
this is such a great post pointing out how chess isn't confusing
THIS IS HOW YOU EARN A PROMOTION FELLAS
Wow, this is like every youtube sponsor ever. "You know, when I make giant builds in Minecraft, it gets pretty boring, which is why I like to use audible to pass the time."

hahahah so true lol
I want you to take a look at this picture by chess.com - take as long as you need. Does any of it make sense to you?
No matter how long you look at this picture, it will never make sense. And that’s the point. Chess has become a confusing game, but not because it’s actually confusing … but rather because the people who SELL the game - such as chess.com - want you to be confused. Confusion leads to buying a premium membership for lessons, which leads to puzzles, which leads to a more expensive membership for unlimited puzzles because chess websites have you convinced chess is a confusing game.
Chess is not confusing - it’s the people selling it who make it confusing. It’s one of the reasons why clubs like Beginners & Masters is so helpful, because it’s a free resource for players of all skill levels to learn from actual chess players, not websites who’s aim is to sell you products.
Take it from me, I was lost and confused in chess when I started. I watched tons of YouTube videos and even bought a premium membership to do lessons and more puzzles. Don’t get me wrong - those things do help. In fact, it’s part of the reason why I’m giving $500 away to a random member of Beginners & Masters, and have given away hundreds of dollars in memberships for our members over the past year.
but one things for certain; chess isn’t as confusing as people want to make you believe it is. Through a good community and good teachers, you can make huge improvements in your game. Thanks to clubs like Beginners & Masters, I went from a measly 198 in blitz to over 1300. I went from not being able to break 400 in rapid, to hitting a peak of 1340+ in rapid!
So, next time you find yourself confused over the game, ask yourself - is it really that confusing, or am I just not talking to the right people to learn?
It makes it incredibly interesting and it looks so technical that everyone will want to learn chess that way. Just like a luminous green snail slithering all over the board. Yes, it's exciting, technical and if those lessons were $500 an hour it would be too little to pay for access to such expertise.
I joined it as a beginner and it really was just a hoax to get to the more desperate members on the site.
I expect nothing less from a 2000 still learning the Slav LOL

at least it's active, BUT LESS ACTIVE THAN THE DUPLICATE CHESS CLUB
Come back bb plz

I mastered most of the lines and I am learning the deepest of theory, theory that only FMs should now. My repetoire against the Meran is outsanding.
if you're not an FM, then why bother learning that much theory? most people usually get out of theory in less than 10 moves

your lowest rapid rating 688, I even checked your archive
your peak rapid is actually only 1308
your lowest blitz rating was 199 and not 198 (xd)
(also you only kept 1300+ in blitz for 4 games maybe more)
also you were climbing from 200 up to 100 really quickly before B&M existed
(yeah I'm just annoyed how you advertised your club 4 times in the span of a month)

This is actually just crazy.
You put in this as the topic for beginners, but you've advertised your club about 5 times in it.
You should know that the reason that you're doing stuff like your crazy $500 dollar giveaway is because chess.com actually exists.
You should really stop trying to exploit people into joining your club, it's not gonna work out in the end.
ayo viz advertise B&M one more time and imma give you the title of "shameless advertiser"
also why are there two kings, im pretty sure that type of chess in the screenshot is classified as "prehistoric chess"
I could literally demote you and not feel a thing
