Explorer for Daily games - for beginners?

So, I learn that far from being considered cheating, chess.com even incorporates the Opening Explorer into the Daily game interface. Apparently this is established practice in correspondence chess, which is what Daily basically is but online. So I can see the most popular next move and percentages of games won by white and black respectively afterwards, if I understand correctly. My question is, as a beginner should I be trying to take advantage of this, since it's there, or pretending I didn't see it? It seems like it might hold me back in live and OTB games if I get too used to it, and the standard advice for beginners is to stick to opening principles. So best left alone, maybe? What do people think? Thanks.

At your level you should stick to principles and focus on improving your chess instead of learning openings.

Ensure you’re also spending time on learning and practicing the fundamental principles of chess openings. This will give you a solid foundation that’s crucial for success in all formats of play.
