Finally broke 900 tonight

Well there have been many highs and even more lows. I started at the end of January at 373 Elo which after I've gone back and looked is the lowest point I've ever been at in chess. I am by no means satisfied. I have a lot of work to do. It's time to grind it out and go for that coveted 1000. My end goal in this whole thing is to reach 1500 - 2000. I have no illusions of grandeur or that I am anything special when it comes to chess. It's a matter of dedication and hard work. And I'm willing to put forth both in my efforts to be a decent chess player. This game has done a lot for me. In recent months, I've gone through certain trials that have tested me to my breaking points. Thankfully, I ended up finding chess to help center me.

I don't mean to be all sappy and annoying, but I am genuinely happy in regards to things I've been able to learn and how far I've come in a few months.

Anyway, it wasn't a pretty game in my opinion, but I'll let you be the judge of that.

Well wishes to all.

P.S

I'm kind of sad that I missed the opportunity to sacrifice my queen and checkmate my opponent on move 16 or 17. I just didn't see it.

Good job, keep going. While the Queen sack and bishops mate would have been a nice ending at least you pulled through for the win.

Nice job. We have similar chess careers but you have moved faster than me. I started in early January. I think if we both played more games we would learn quicker and move up the rating ladder quicker. For me it’s hard to find the time and although I enjoy playing, it can be mentally draining on top of my day job and life. My goal is 1000. I was trying to reach that in six months but it’s going to be more like eight months (hopefully)

Congrats!

The queen sac isn’t easy to see. Most players would have not seen it. It would have been absolutely beautiful, though.
