Hi, could somebody explain to me how to defend this tricky position because I'm getting tired of this opening trick

And note that all the open names I mention (italian, two knights, max lange attack, etc can be searched on wiki or google for more info).

Bishops before knights. Develop the king side bishop before the knight then the queen can cover g5. The knight blocks her guard of this square. Nip the knight out then castle and f7 is defended twice by king and rook. Bishop before knight then castle.

You can also play 3. ... Be7 (covering g5) followed by Nf6 and castles.

sid496

play knight h4

Oh yeah. I usually forget about this move even though it's what I used to play when I was starting out. Objectively it's ok, but I'd say a distant 3rd to 3...Nf6 and 3...Bc5 (not that it matters for very new players).

at your rating, its probably not a good idea to give up the pawn with the na5 line. this isn't meant to be offensive, its just the truth. i wouldnt feel comfortable playing down a pawn like that either.

i would recommend you probably play a line with 3 ...bc5, 3 ...be7 or 3 ...h6.
