Hi Alfredo,
There is a lot of excellent content at the ChessMood site : https://chessmood.com/?r=Richie
You don’t need to buy any courses as soon as you see them. If you aren’t aiming for titles soon, take your time and rise on your own. There’s so much free stuff on YT. You can always find free courses and pdfs of chess books. And there’s hundreds of improvements thread on this forum. Look through it. There are many players who are offering free workshops and guidance too. All it takes is time and effort to get from beginners to intermediate.
Play against the coach bots, do game review, if you go to a school with a chess club join and ask for a coach, do chess puzzles AND DON'T MOVE ON UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND IT, do the daily puzzles as they are more complex.
Learn and apply the most important principles of chess.
Always blunder-check your moves.
Solve tactics in the right way.
Analyze your games.
Study games of strong players.
Learn how to be more psychologically resilient.
Work on your time management skills.
Get a coach if you can.
If you are really serious, read a book called logical chess by Chernav. Play along with a chess board.
The book is directed for beginners and can take you to an intermediate level.
Most games in that book are E4, D4 - more classical stuff. Plus discussion on fundamental strategies and tactics which is always relevant, but the book I found was less didactic until the 1200 rapid level (again my experience). Still I recommend to every beginner.
We play at the same level, I don’t think you’d get so much out of it.

-Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Always as, “If I move here, where is my opponent going to move?”. Do this for every single move!
-Play with a slow time control, such as G/30 so you have plenty of time to think before every move.
-Beginners tend to move too quickly, so in general, think for at least 10-15 seconds before moving.
Your job is to never make any silly blunders!
-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces” and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.” Both books are available on Amazon.com. Both books are endorsed by chess masters!
- Check out the 500 puzzles for beginners. These puzzles are unique and cannot be found anywhere else: . These puzzles are endorsed by chess masters!
-If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.
I hope this helps. I've been teaching chess to beginners for the last 11 years.
