how do you beat a pro at chess???

people are always looking for short cuts. you have only played 20 games since you joined this web site 2+ months ago. That is hardly any games at all. Do you know all the rules of the game yet, including the special pawn capture called en passant and how to castle on both sides of the Board ? You first must master the rules before you can progress.
You are yet to feel the sledgehammer come down from a 1200 player, let alone a 2200 player. Do you think you can tell the difference ?........probabaly not.
Play another 1,000 games and then ask the question again.

You basically just have to be very good at chess, there are no shortcuts. I suppose then the question is how to become very good at chess.

I recommend having the pro use carved beets. Then when he's not looking, eat his queen, then say you have no idea where his queen went. Repeat for other pieces as needed.
🤣
A simple way that fulfills your requirements without any cheating, bribery, or criminal activity:
Play against a pro in something other than chess, who plays chess worse than you.

Perhaps, with a big baseball bat?
Otherwise, study, practice, get really good and turn pro yourself. Then maybe you will be competitive enough to win . . .

Some pro's tend to wander around a lot when it's not their turn. When they do so, you might try and quickly set up a position which leaves you with a mate in one. But i doubt it will work since they usually remember what the position was like when they left the board. But it's an idea

you must study so hard that the question is, How are the pros going to beat me?
Excellent answer!!

Is it possible for a 1600 to play like a 2000 to beat a 2000? Or what circumstances would make the 2000 play like a 1600? Drunk, disaesed, lack of sleep, hungry, etc?
Either checkmate him, get him to resign or forfeit the game. The last option looks most promising.
