4-move checkmate (When one moves out the bishop and queen)

one can move their knight or move the queen one step forward

Hello! I would like to share a way to observe and save yourself from getting checkmated by the rook. This common form of checkmate happens when the rook is moved in the same row as the opponent' king and the king can't escape due to its own 3 pawns obstructing the way( this scenario occurs mostly when the king has castled)! Hence, one has to be wary of the rook of whether it can deliver a checkmate or not.

How to save yourself:

Move one of the pawns forward so that the king can escape when the rook delivers a check. Hope this helps!

P.S. - Take note that castling is a good move and is advantageous when used wisely.

Don’t walk into traps lol
(E.g. Stafford gambit, elephant trap, fried liver)

Edit: I mean you can walk into fried liver on purpose, it’s nice to use Traxler

play 1.e6

this is a universal opening for black that can transpose to anything white can throw at you. also stops those annoying 4 move checkmates.
