i made new account . I m playing chess from more them 6 years but my average rating was 300 on chess.com. I have played more them 1000 games on chess.com but in my last game my opponent beat me by fools mate. I love chess but don't understand it. After playing so many games and tutorials I never understand it.

I m a college teacher of maths. But I don't understand how to play chess besides I know how pecies move.

I castle always and do basics right but don't win.

Can anyone tell me how to learn chess.

Everyone say that it's too damn easy to get a rating of 1000 but after 6 years my rating never crosses 300. 800 when I make a new account. Is there any youtube video or book which can help me.

Sorry for my bad english I m not a native English speaker.

Playing blitz will not help in your development at all. I thought that the pressure of thinking quickly in blitz would help me in longer timed games as I have more time to make moves but I was wrong. By no means am I a good player but my rating is slowly going up and the switch to 30 minutes games is the reason. Opening principles is key and has helped in my chess development. I started playing in March with zero knowledge of the game and was stuck just like you in the 300's but slowly worked my way to 700's. If your willing to learn you'll definitely get results.

Honestly, just do puzzles and analyze your games. Work on not blundering pieces and play longer time controls.

I think sticking to openings you know is a good idea. Then it is all about tactics!!! Puzzles will help with this. Try the lessons on chess.com to learn all the tactics.

best wishes in your chess development

I looked at your profile, maybe being a decent chess player is not for you

I just looked at your comment, maybe being a decent person is not for you.

yes; stop playing blitz for a bit

maybe try daily for awhile and make use of analysis board in your games; also- a good starting tactic book/training program

i would also recommend john bartholomew’s “climbing the rating ladder” and “chess fundamental” series on youtube; even if english is secondary you will still get something out of it

also- go over your games when you finish

i peeked at a couple and it looks like you have issues of “not seeing opponents threats” especially with knights; i also have problems with opponents knights- so much so that i try and implement an ongoing plan to “nullify” opponents knights as much as possible

oddly- it looks like you might have potential but you have to start limiting the self inflicted damage first

i remember losing all my pieces to knights and queens often in the sub 800 pools

this is where switch to daily helped as i could at least use analysis board to try and map out the next few replies

good luck; play longer games; ask yourself “what will happen if i move here?” and what is opponent potential threats before each move

Curiously, dealing in absolutes and exists or does not exist, doesn't work well when playing chess. Given the limited amount of space and material, it should be possible to use an algorithm to play it, but we haven't discovered it yet.

So, what we use is everyday logic, in the form of probabilities of something happening. For instance, if you see dark clouds when leaving home, you'll probably pick up an umbrella. When taking a vacation in Africa, you'll likely want to be up to date of the countries with some form of social unrest or something like that, before deciding with countries to visit. Or, if you know of a young man with excellent performance in school, college, and university, you'll probably foresee a bright future for him.

In chess, the main criteria is making your pieces better than the rival pieces. This is achieved through “piece activity” (or “activity” –which includes pawns), which is the concept that deals with the action of the pieces that condition the opponent's game, typically by subjecting his pieces to defensive tasks or depriving them of useful movements and squares (due to lack of space or time), so as to reduce their effectiveness when facing problems on the board. It is the most important factor when evaluating a position and deciding what to do because it points out both the problems that both players must solve and the available resources.

One of the best ways to improve is to observe how better players play. This can be as simple as pulling up YouTube and watching master games with analysis. Doing this as a beginner helped me a lot, so I've recently started a channel myself to help chess players improve. Please feel free to follow me on Youtube and Twitch! I just uploaded a video of me playing 10+0 games with live commentary and analysis (Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/O1kOYk3FnPw). Hopefully this helps improve your game! Every subscription means a lot to me, so if you subscribe, I’ll really appreciate it.
