i make mistakes...in visualization.....in my head mistakes / oversights I would never make if i had a board to try work positions out on is using a second board to play a move or three to clearly see positions actually cheating? i would be much better at no making mistakes if could see board.....not just inside my head

I suppose in real gameplay this would get into a bigger issue of touching pieces, where you can only touch the piece that you're going to move...... But in a sense playing with confirmation kind of opens that because you can see the move you made before you confirm it........ Which is helpful. But anyway even if you're solving puzzles.... Is using a board or a pencil and paper or anything else......cheating?

Hi,

You’re allowed to move pieces around in Daily chess mode games but never in Live mode games. Those games are treated OTB. Imagine playing in a tournament game and your opponent whips out a small chess set and sets it next to him and sees your puzzles look and says “this is just for doing my calculations as needed.” Not ok, not ok in an online game. If you struggle with visualization there are ways to practice that and improve!
