Is it possible to alter the time per move?

My buddy and I have been wanting to play together here but we can't seem to find a format on the website that allows for 'free play' basically.  When we make a move a message pops up telling us we have 1 minute before we abort the game.  We're complete newbies and spent quite a while banging our heads against the wall trying to figure out how to just play a game without a timer per move.  The overall game timer is fine and for solo play I'm completely fine the way it is but is there any way to play a relaxed practice game with my buddy where we can take as long as we need per move?

Right but with daily chess we have to confirm our moves and it pulls us out of the game after every move so it's a bit tedious.

i was able to create a custom time via app (that is how i access chess.com)

of 60/60

as far as getting the “game abort” notification this only happens- that i’ve noticed- in the first couple moves of the game or if someone disconnects

there might be another trigger for the notification if someone doesnt move for 10 minutes maybe (usually only see this when opponent abandons game with time on clock)

there may be more customization via the browser vs the ios app

Thanks so much man.  You were right it was only in the first couple moves and then the timer disappeared.  I really appreciate the help.  I just wasn't aware of any such timer and it confused us so we didn't play it out, figuring that was just the way it was.  Remember we're complete noobs so we had very limited knowledge of the timing system and were not aware the abort timer was a failsafe the website put in.  Have a great one!
