From one beginner to another, WATCH THE LESSONS, I can't put into words how much better it feels to beat a player not because of a stupid blunder but because you outplay them with great openings middle games and endgames. I wont front I saw the learn tab and just saw it as voluntary school but after watching those videos and going through the motions I have really begun to understand chess fundamentals. No coach required and the info is all conveniently placed right in front of me. In no way am I saying that these are going to shoot your rating up to GM but I can guarantee you will thank me after going through the process of watching them all. I for one have always thought of myself as someone who could be good at chess if I simply learned how to come out of the openings without being -14 because of my blunders or +14 because of my opponents blunders. These lessons completely changed how I see chess. Even though its obviously a strategy game no doubt about it, it's very hard to see and appreciate that strategy without knowing the fundamentals. All in all, please take my word for it and spend a bit watching the videos and reinforcing the knowledge with the challenges and I promise the reward will come in your next game.
