Move timeout

Is there not a system for opponents timing out if they take to long to move? Just had to sit in a rapid game for 28 minutes because I forked my opponents rook and king and instead of playing on/resigning he let all 28 minutes run down

I think they get a warning.

i thought chess.com implemented an abandonment component that stops the game even if opponent tries to cheese it?

if you are a trooper you can block the guy and resign game- like an eff ewe- “look at board; i crushed you; and i resigned...”
then start a new one

I thought there was one to but I just had to sit for 28 minutes because I don't want my rating to drop aha, It wasn't even a terrible position would of been trading a knight for a rook

yeah- it sucks- best to block and move on; if you want to keep the points you can stew

i assume you are playing a 30 min game and opponent gets forked after 2 minutes

i noticed your rapid rating is right in the sweet spot for derps who play like bullet, make huge blunder, then bail

if you havent already- adjust your settings to only get paired with those -50-+250 rated of your rating

it gets alot better once you get into mid 1100’s

(you can still resign- getting a good, competitive 30 min game is well worth the loss of a few rating points)
