How important is it for you to predict your opponent's moves outside of when you're under a direct threat ?

It's always important to identify candidate moves from your opponent.  If you are not looking at your opponent's possibilities, then you are not understanding the position.

It's very important!

-Consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Always as, “If I move here, where is my opponent going to move?”

I hope that this helps.
