rating : 500 or less. VERY HARD PUZZLE
I rushed my move as White and resigned after realising that I would fall to an elementary tactic.
For players between 500-700. Black to move (puzzle to win, not to mate).

Currently it's Ng6+. A check,
Black simply plays ...Rxg6 and I am toast.
Puzzle for players rated 1500.
White to move and mate in 4. From my bullet game against a 1600+, and I obviously missed it.
what was the answer? i know how to winin this position though
The first move is pretty straightforward, but the next three are not. I let you think about it first for now. It's a calculation exercise good at your rating level. After all, you are able to do 1600 puzzles and in this specific case there are not too many lines to consider. Black is more or less in zugzwang.
With an extra rook and every single piece on the board being trapped, there is no satisfactory move for Black.
Finding the mate in 4 is another task altogether, and I didn't even know that a mate in 4 existed even though Black is more or less screwed in the position.
Good checkmating pattern recognition for players up to 1000 rating (from one of my games).
White to move and
- mate in 3 (for players rated 500-700)
- mate in 2 (for players rated 800-1000)
