spending a few days in the 900 league i just observed that the 900 league is much better than it was

a few weeks ago, full  of "new" members that play better than the 1100 league

The way I see it, when my rating falls, it is not a bad thing. It is rather simply me reverting to the mean, to the rating where I naturally belong based on my aptitude and willingness to learn. I know and accept that I suck, and I lack the willpower or tenacity to improve beyond, say, 850 without stressing myself out to the point of quitting chess. (Which I did for a bit)

Hey, think of it this way. While improving is a worthy goal for any player, it is okay to just to play for fun even if that means wallowing in the sub 1000 range forever, and hey, every time you lose, your opponents tend to get easier too.

I do not think you can stay at 1000 for ever IF you play rapid and IF you take the time to THINK on every move.

At one point IF you learn one opening for white and one for black you should be able to win "easily" 20 games in a row against everyone under 1250 on this site.

Because they ALL blunder at one point in their first 30-35 move.

Of course to beat them all you need to be a real 1350 elo at least because they are mostly ALL 1200-1250 ELO.

Can it be done in 3 months by playing 4 games every day or in 3 years that depend on you! learn some tactics and some end game too.

When the site itself is cheating with the pairing system you can't expect its users to be fair...if i want to lose all the momentum i simply play with the computer at its highest and hardest 10th level...is there any human player that can beat that machine running on chess.com? Once you're playing on a multitasking machine , your opponent can use anything to kill your pleasure...If they use their machines to later claim they're grand masters based on a huge level they aquire this way, learning chess to play here becomes pointless. in itself..

I play here and on 3 other chess sites since a very long time and if i played 1% of my games against cheaters i would be surprised.

I'd urge someone who's level is , let's say in the 1500 league... to make an experiment.Reregister with a new account as beginner like 800...and see  how long it takes him to get back in the 1500 league.Of course he's going to get there easier than me who's playing chess only for a few months and get only to max 1100 league on some "illegal" accounts , but still, i am sure it would take him some serious  efforts to get back in the 1500 league due to the matching system that will give him an enormous amount of lower ranked  opponents that will eat his points if he's tired or just not in the mood to win.

My little brother that is maybe 1400 elo at most did start an account a few months back here and he played 20 (30 min) games in a row against 1280 and less players, half the players were around 1100,the other around 900.

He did win the 20 games in a row and he got to 1330 and he stop playing here because he had to think on each move to win here but on li... he can win easily by playing by reflex against 1525 player.

He has that bad habit! of playing by reflex.

Here he has to work for a win.

I do understand that.Yet you don't understand simple facts: The automatic pairing system will give so many underrated people to fight that you are going to play years to get to "morning" level....

You do not have to use the pairing system you can go to the window where you can chose to play against anyone that is available to play by clicking on the dot that represent the player.

I think it can be easily done in 5 days by playing 8 (30 min games )per day.

By choosing your opponents in the right window for that.

A real 1500 elo can easily win 30 (30 min game) in a row here against 99% of the player rated under 1450 here.

That will give him 1450 here...he still have 10 games to get to 1500 here...

i only played 10 min games where i blunder a lot, due to time constraints and inexperience ...At 30 min games there are too many people waisting other's time...Some probably  choose to go for a shower in the middle of the game...

I did it once.  I only created the account for my nephew to read articles and look at chess.com videos that I thought would help him.  He's since lost interest in chess, and I forgot the account password so I can't really play on it anymore.  Regardless, before I let the account go I got to 1500 fairly easily.  Chess is just not always easy.  For example, let's say you see a free pawn.  You take it, then bam, you lose.  Why?  Because he baited you with a pawn to gain a decisive advantage.  In most cases, it's best to just take the pawn, only while keeping in mind, if there are any tactics.  Even that said, you might spend minutes trying to figure out if you can take the pawn or not, then take the pawn, but forgot to look at your king, who was set up for a support mate with knight and queen.  Chess is not easy.  You have to learn to multitask, holding other things in your memory banks while processing other moves.  Chess is a memory game.  It will improve your memory, and make you sharp.  But just like anything else, you have to put in the work, and just because you lose to someone who is lower-rated, don't just think, oh he must have cheated.  Just treat it like a normal loss, and let chess.com take care of the rest.

The new lessons are very good.  I did about 10 of them so far and they will work wonders for a beginner.  It seems like chess.com is trying to make it possible for a chess player to just get a diamond membership and not have to buy any chess books.  There are a lot of things available now with a diamond membership.  I would consider getting a diamond membership, for any beginner, and start with the lessons.

He hasn't played any rapid or bullet, his start rating was 2000.

Trainer_Red99

You're supposed to continue winning or losing until you reach players that are playing at your rating level. Once that happens, you will have around 50% chances of winning or losing. Then you must study to reach the next rating class.

You just need to play as fresh as possible your first 10 games and you settle in a higher cathegory where you'll find simillarly good players as in a lower one. I just found a guyt that plays in teh 800 league since april and he's really good but he plays all the time, both when he's fresh or very tired so he win some days and lose others....  I think also  there are many more that  have multiple  accounts that this site is able to admit publicly. You can't have a total of  1.5 million players and at the same time , new 45 000  daily registrations  for years...

Typewriter44

Duplicate accounts are certainly a part of it, but the 45000 daily registration was only for a short period of time when chess blew up on livestreaming platforms. Now it's down to 32000, and before the quarantine it was 17000. Not that unrealistic.

firstsecon

at 17000 it takes 88 days to get to 1.5 million, ...and this site is here for 25 years....

Typewriter44

This site was created in 2007, actually

40 million accounts / 4813 days

8310 accounts per day

firstsecon

i think i saw twice that there are playing 1.5 million players every day , and a statistic of 5 million games per day.

Typewriter44

Yes? That's not very unreasonable.
