omg same
There's chess inside my brain, help
ive been playing for 1 week. and last night all i dreamed about was i moving the knight around the board

It’s normal. Immerse yourself in something new and your mind will work to reorganize itself to handle the new thing better. It doesn’t have to seem useful to be helpful. Just keep doing what you’re doing!

Yeah you are all fine - called "tetris effect" because world class tetris video game players (when the game first came out and video games were just becoming popular) kept seeing tetris blocks everywhere in day-to-day life.
Kind of funny. When I started playing chess, I was super sure I saw a chess board on the table, but it was a laptop, or super sure I saw chess pieces on a board, but it was just the salt and pepper shakers on a checkered tablecloth.
Not just chess too. When I started playing poker, every time I passed a business conference room; the table looked like a poker table to me. Who am I kidding? It still kind of does, where else do you see an oval table that can sit about 9 or 10 people at it?
I stopped seeing chess stuff when it wasn't there after about a few weeks or a month though. Anything longer and you might need help
Bobby Fischer actually said he kept thinking chess too. A reporter asked him if he could think other things. Fischer said that he could; he said his problem was that his mind kept drifting back to chess. How to play a position or how to improve something he had been playing. In fact, Fischer also said he was fond of bowling (calling it a "fine game") and working out, but that his mind just kept going back to chess.

Thankyou very much for your explanation sirr

I'm glad almost everyone experience this. I thought i have a problem.
Same with me. I thought I was the biggest nerd ever, dreaming about chess constantly.

I'm addicted to chess recently, most of the time when i'm not playing there's always picture of chess move inside my brain especially the knight move. Is it good? Is it bad? Is it normal? If it's bad, how do i get rid of it? If it's good, how do i use it for my improvement of the games?
yes, always the poney and bishop moves
