unusual draw offer

was playing a game which I later lost. Early on I was offered a draw because he said the position was boring. I played the london and he played the KID. Is this normal.

"boring" is a term beginners and low rated players like to use.

It translates to: "I dont know what to do."

You had the first few moves of a London.  But there was no KID.

I played a game where opponent made same moves again and again but I didn't. How it can be a draw by repeatation?

tbf playing a d4 d5 London position isn't exactly the most exciting thing, but it's not as if the position is dead equal if he plays a Fianchetto system against it because white will always be slightly better in those positions if played correctly

The rule is if the same position occurs 3 time on the board, it is a draw. So you do not have to make the exact same moves as long as the position is the same 3 times.

If you are talking about the game against Chave122, look at the position after these 3 moves:

34. ...Kc7
36. ...Rd8
38. ...Rd8

Click on those 3 moves and you will see that the position is identical.

Thank you. Not a problem. I needed to go through the last few moves a couple of times as it wasn't as obvious as it usually is. happy.png

And all three times the position repeats itself the same castling and en passant moves must be available for all three moves.

You're quite welcome.

Also, each time the position is repeated it must be the same player's turn to move.
