With over 20 years of experience as a chess coach, and currently working with 25+ students from around the world—mostly from the USA—I’ve seen firsthand that real progress in chess comes from consistent, structured, and guided training.
My students typically dedicate 1 to 2 hours daily to chess. I provide them with daily customized tasks via Slack or email and track their progress closely on Chess.com and Lichess. We also meet for one to two live Zoom lessons per week, which allows for personalized instruction and real-time feedback.
The cornerstone of chess improvement is pattern recognition, making tactical training absolutely essential. Alongside this, I help students develop a dynamic and aggressive opening repertoire, and we focus heavily on mastering the middlegame and endgame—because true understanding is what drives long-term success.
One shining example is a 10-year-old student from the USA who improved his Lichess rating from 850 to 1510 in a short time. His current over-the-board (OTB) rating is 1200, and he has already won three tournaments in the last two months. His success is a clear reflection of dedication, the right training plan, and strong mentorship.
If you're serious about taking your chess to the next level, the best way is to progress steadily, with understanding. Rethink your openings. Strengthen your tactical vision. Master your middlegame and endgame. And most importantly, find a coach who can guide you every step of the way.
