This is a much better problem to have than to be overly confident and always assume your opponent's move is a blunder without triple checking. This is a problem that goes away with time and experience. But like you mentioned, it's much better to use as much time as necessary to lead you to a completely winning game than to rush and have a mediocre position or even lose your advantage but end up with more time.

This is something that doesn't help my issues with time management in the slightest.
It's not every day that my opponent plays an especially brazen blunder. So, when they do, I often stare blankly at the screen for about 30 seconds, wasting precious time, to make sure that it really was an egregious error.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Of course, time usually matters less when one side is very clearly winning, but it can be annoying sometimes because it's a testament to how slow and overly cautious I am.
