Some players believe that bringing the queen out early allows them to launch an immediate attack. They might be hoping to set up checkmate threats or force their opponent into making mistakes.
As beginners they probably learned Scholar's mate.

The problem is a lot of people at this level leave even if it’s a fair trade.
I’ve had a few people mess me up with queens gambit but I’ve learned the decline so that’s less a problem. Anything else, so far, I’ll just trade or even catching them slipping🤷🏾♂️
