Why’s Blitz so much harder than Rapid?

I'm curious about why a reason is necessary.

It's not necessary, it's interesting.

I think that a guy searched for something marginally similar, then google gave this old topic as one of the top results (google is utter trash nowadays), then the guy just had to reply to a 4-year old post, then another guy (Optimissed) just had to reply to another 4-year old post. Three times.

Yes I agree, it's interesting to sometimes comment on old threads. And whenever I've told people that Google is trash (for at least a year) and that AI isn't intelligent, they tell me I'm wrong, as if they're sticking up for the Californian economy. I use Duckduck or startpage when I can. Have you any better search engine recommendations?

I often don't look at the age of a thread. It can be relevant but usually not. I suppose I was helping Google a bit though.

Blitz is harder for beginners because time pressure doesn’t affect both players equally: experienced players rely on fast pattern recognition and intuition, while beginners still need deliberate thinking to check threats and avoid blunders. In Rapid games, beginners have enough time to apply basic thinking habits, but in Blitz those habits break down before they can be used, causing their accuracy to drop much more sharply than their opponent’s. As a result, even at the same nominal Elo level, Blitz favors experience and automatic play, which is why beginners’ Blitz ratings are often much lower than their Rapid ratings.
