It happens but not a lot when you challenge higher rated players. Lower rated players tend to rage quit.

Hello,
I'm brand new on chess.com, I just started to play yesterday with a simple motivation: I just feel attracted to the game and want to get better at it by playing it.
I like the website a lot, but there is something that bothers me (one of the reasons that puts me off upgrading to a premium acccount, btw): out of the four games I've played so far I've won them all by... abandon, my opponents all suddenly disconnecting. Save one game.
Is this usual?
The real issue for me is I really don't feel like I've 'won' anything, and certainly not learned much. So, it seems odd to me to see my rating rising for no good reason. I know it will go down as soon as I start playing more games, but I'm in no hurry and have no problem having a low rating if it is a true indicator of my skills compared to other players here.
So, beside playing more, is there a way to maybe find opponents that won't disconnect as often, and have the opportunity to be soundly (and fairly) beaten at chess, like I expected I should be as a beginner?
