took me 4 tries then I realized the pawn promotion and the jump squares for a knight lol this is good training. This scenario is very unlikely though

Unlikely for white to have 2 queens.

 

Also because I knew it was mate in one it was easy.  Would I have got it if I had not beeb told it was mate in one?

I promoted the pawn to a Queen, then tried a bishop, then got it right with the knight ;)

Wow, I'll admit that I might not have seen that if this was a live game, because that is not a common way to checkmate the opponent with a knight promotion!  Splendid puzzle!

There are only 3 options when someone says a difficult mate in 1:

En passant

Castling

Underpromotion.
