A Knightmare

A lot of people have a fear of knights.  Sometimes you just need to address your fears by attacking it head on.

In the first game, we went a bit crazy with the knights.  I tried to move the entire Calvary up the board while my opponent used a more specific attack (and was much more successful).  Late in the game, my attempt was just to trade pieces off realizing that he would need to keep no less than three knights to mate.

In the second game, I combat four knights  Yes, I realize that my opponent held back to see if he can mate with three only to fall into a stalemate...

I did not include any analysis in the game, because our ideas of attach were pretty easy to see after the fact.  Both games were enjoyable to play and we now much more confident with our knights.

Yeah, I am pretty bad with checkmating with knights.

If you guys all out there want to practice this and be prepared, do this:

There, you can practice your knight checkmates.

Checkmating with 4 knights vs lone king was fairly easy.  It was when he pulled back a knight to try it with three that it was difficult.

Thank you for posting the drills link.  Chess.com has a lot to offer.

That link looks useful thanks 1400136896.

Aaron and I have both benefitted from these set ups and friendly endgame Tournaments.

V3 certainly allows the set ups to be much more dramatic than the standard fair .

That's an interesting chess variant. Where is that located at chess.com ?

We made it ourselves.  We were looking for an unusual set up that we can get some much needed knight variances.
