By the way, if you want to distinguish "crazy" and "strange" from "illegal" then you need to provide a very precise and complete definition. If you can't do that, it is better to simply ask for "interesting illegal positions". Crazy positions are so obviously illegal that they are "uninteresting".

it is illegal, rook cant leave the h1 g1 h2 pocket and there arent enough pawns missing to promote to a new rook

But the black pawn which promoted on h1 could have captured the rook on h2 ....

Edit: I see I am wrong about that because there are still 3 white rooks then. It's a bit too illegal. Back to the workbench!
