Seems like 4100. I think this kind of gag works when you tell someone the numbers and they are added without the use of paper or visuals.

I think the trick is to keep upping the number to 4090 and then when the sucker is asked to add ten, he jumps to 5000 instead of 4100. I think the brain doesn't deal with carrying the one to the next column very exactly. But on paper (or computer) it fails, because you can just add up all the 1000s and then the little ones. 
I think the commonly missed element is =>
So the answer is anything bigger than 5000. Which is why I answered 3.5.
clear! (not intended to add emphasis to my clear statement but to reitterate what the EMS techs are saying right now over my slow moving heart while holding large electrodes in their hands)
By the way, the answer is 4100.
Right. So 4100 or bigger is perfect.
I'm still sticking with 3.5 until the answer is announced.
