Illegal Position Contest!

Illegal I think
The pawn on b7 has not moved, which means that the only way the white king could go to that square is if it moved to that square, which it could not do because it would be moving into check.
Also both kings are in check which idk is possible.
Also the bishop on a1 cannot go there because the pawn on b2 has not moved.
It might be legal if the coordinates are secretly different and the position is from black's view 🤨

Click on Go To Analysis to see the position with coordinates.
Illegal, castling is impossible because the kings would be adjacent. If it’s from black’s POV, a promotion is also impossible since the pawn on d7 would check the black king with white to play. The rook could also not have just moved since black would already be in check.

I intentionally hid the coordinates, is it legal from black’s POV though?

That is correct!

I was trying to trick you by whether moving the king further along the 1st rank affects castling rights. That white would have had to move his king and rook as he has no other pieces but the black king could take a piece, so then threw in those pawns lol
Ah if the kingside pawns weren’t there then the position would be legal. Is it legal if b2 or c2 is moved or removed?
Good question, unsure.
It actually would be legal, the check is legal because white didn’t have to castle, rd2-rd1 is possible!
I was so confused what the difference was until I saw the coordinates. I’ll have to think about those two.
@DaStrwbrry, right way up the position is illegal. The last move had to be an enpassant but before f7f5, it would be black to play with white in check. Upside down, the last move had to be d5-d6+ because an enpassant would block white’s bishop from getting there, but then black does not have a legal last move since the king would be in an impossible double check anywhere it could have moved from and the pawns are in their starting ranks.
