I usually play 1...e5
and I don't know much theory for other moves
So I'll play 1...e5
ah I was hoping for an exciting King's Gambit...
I usually play the petroff here. but to make it more interesting I'll play 2...Nc6 and see what happens

I never play kings gambit. I switch between the Petroff and Nc6 when playing black. I usually play the scotch here, but I'll consider the Ruy or Italian.
Well in general otb I play an opening without much theory, and online whatever I feel like. I don't really mind what you play, I'm just trying to avoid drawish openings.

The petroff is pretty drawish. The Ruy can be exciting, but I play 3.d4 since that is what I know best.

Aren't you a little young to be accepting scotch? Anyway, I play 4.Bc4
I thought 3...exd4 was the only move...
anyway I was expecting Nxd4, not Bc4 
What to do now, it's getting interesting.
Bc5 hangs onto the pawn, or should I play something safer like Nf6 and castle quickly?

I prefer Bc5, developing
I like Nf6 better.
I'll play Bc5. I'll at least try to hang onto the pawn.
